I got an EBJD around 2 months ago. I ordered from Live Aqauria and actually ordered a normal gene. Knowing that they are slow growers, how can I speed this up. He is in a 60 gallon tank with 2 aqueon 75 for filtration (looking to get a marineland 360 soon). How can I speed this up? Thanks!!!IMG_0500.JPG

as stated above, clean water and proper food. Keep in mind they are extremely fragile and susceptible to parasites/diseases until about the 3" mark. I've kept many and only ever lost one (which was due to lack of care/lack of water changes... nitrates were way too high :( ). If you give this guy plenty of water changes he will grow and be a stunner in no time. Also, I wouldn't recommend adding any other fish because it will more than likely stress him out - and they will more than likely outgrow him because of his slow growth rate...

I've never had any luck with keeping them, it's a shame. They're such beautiful fish.

Also feed him bloodworms,brine/mysis shrimp, mosquito larvae and such for the first year or so as their digestive system is poor until older,do not feed pellets or flake while young.
