How to make Azul Blue?

I just got a 16" big Azul, it is a real monster but wonder his dorsal fin isn't as blue as others in this forum, it is a little bit black. I would like to know if there are any factors that affect the degree of blue in Azul? Is there anything o do with light, background or food?

azuls blue depends on whether they are stressed or not
which means nice blue, stressed-faded blue
mine shows blue when he wants too

i find blackwater really brings out color and dithers to excite them

also depends what part of the river the fish was from.

I am going to post his photo a while later, it is quite hard to find such a 17" blue monster in HK. Some FS told me that there are 2 types of Azul, one without sprangle is more blue than the others, is it true? How to differentiate them? Black or dark blackgroung will be more suitable to show the blue?
