How to make fish more interactive?

Well my small juvi jag is about 3 inches. He is very shy, and when I go to the glass he usually swims away and hides. Any ideas on how to change that?

The longer you have him the more he will associate you with food and learn you aren't a threat. How long have you had it.

Only a few weeks. Just put him in the big tank, but my oscars only took about 3 days to warm up to me, didnt know if jags were the same

i don't know too much on cichlids, so I wouldn't know. I do know oscars are pretty outgoing with things like that.

Give it time. Otherwise get a midas, or an oscar, or a goldfish, or a puppy.

It just takes time. When your jag gets interactive you're gonna have your hands full.

my 10 inch female jag is so smart !! It took time but soon enough your jag will be wagging at the front of the tank as soon as it see's you

tap twice or thrice on the glass everytime before you feed them... after a while they'll go crazy everytime you tap..
