Okay so as some of you know i recently replaced the front panel glass in my 120 gallon (https://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/getting-ready.717284/)
I thought about making a bridge out of styrofoam as decoration but due to a busy schedule, I gave up but ended up coming with an idea that looked good on my head but ended up not looking so good in the tank.
Here it is: Clay pots glued with silicone.
Fish are loving the exaggerated amount of hidding places but i am not.
So i am thinking let them get covered in algae but how i achieve it?
If you have any idea how to make it look better please share.20190613_222138.jpg

If you have a window nearby try to utilize the sunlight, keep the lights on 12h's or more, ad some sort of liquid fertilizer. Also you could tie or glue mosses or java fern or something, be sure to use adhesives that are safe for aquarium use.

Hi,
I would take the pots out, put in some medium sand and insert driftwood where the fish can swim through and hide in or behind.
Tieing some java fern on it looks nice.

You could do what everyone's suggesting and grow some java fern or Anubis on them. I would tie it on with black thread and stuff some in the gaps and the drain holes in the base of the pots, probably add some moss too. Eventually once it all grows and algae kicks in you would have a weird Aztec pyramid ruin look happening, might take a while though. Keep the lights on a lot and let the sunlight hit it if you can and it will speed things up. Maybe scatter some twigs around the base too for visual effect.
It's your tank a decorate it how you please, personally it's cool to see someone trying something different. I would like to see this in 6 months time if you do try the plants, I think it could turn out into an interesting looking tank.

If you don't secure the clay pots the Oscar may knock one over and possibly cracking the bottom.

I could leave the lights on 12 hours.
