I got a free pool liner and it has the blue and white pattern on it. I plan on having rocks around the edges but what can I do to make it look more natural???

Gravel on the floor.

Boulders on the walls.

Use larger 12-18"+ in the bottom, with smaller ones as you go up. My next pond I will use 18" Black Corrigated pipe for a shelf. Then hide it with boulders and gravel. I have a large shelf in my pond now that is the bog/wetland area. The only problem is it could have been made from a piece of pipe as the shelf area, hid w/rocks, and planted. It would then make a great cave for fish to hide.

do you think the rocks could tear the liner? I know I would need to be extra careful when placing the rocks in there. Do you have any pics of your pond/rocks? I would love to see them, sounds awesome!
Would sand work on the bottom?

Sand will work, might want to still use gravel under the boulders.

Ginger placement is recomended.... Use could use pieces of underlayment behind the rocks. If you know an electrician (high voltage) they use rubber mats in their cherry pickers. Any time they get a tear or rip in the pad, they have to replace them. I like to use them under larger boulders to disperse weight and a added protection.

That pic. is from early spring. The plants and lillies don't really make for good detail in the shelves and boulders now. You can kinda get the idea though. I will look for other pics. that show things better.

cool, thanks for posting the pic :)

If yo don't want to fill the pond with rocks and gravel, the natural algae will eventually cover the sides with a nice green. These are good algae, not string or free floating.

I DONT HAVE A POND BUT SOME ONE TOLD ME TO PLACE SOME OLD CARPET UNDER THE LINER OR BEACH SAND.
