I'm interested in keeping some gobies that apparently require a high oxygen content in their water but I don't know how I would ascertain whether my setup has enough. Is there a way to measure it? If so, does anyone know of a scale which I can compare it to?

There are test kits and electronic meters. There's plenty of information out there on the dissolved oxygen requirements of fish. Usually, fish need >5 mg/L.

Thank you, you are quite right! I guess I should have done a search first but I've honestly never heard of or seen of these tests before, must have been walking around with my eyes shut lol

The link below are the kind of DI probes I used working in water quality lab.
There are probably much less expensive versions, but you get what you pay for.
My favorite fish to keep, are rheophillic cichlids, that need highly oxygenated waters.
To keep oxygen levels up, I used plenty of flow (high gph pumps (1200gph plus)), with Venturi tubes attached to the outflows.

I am pointing at a Venturi (tube/valve) above, and the photos above are from Venturis, in action "not" from air pumps.

When it comes to oxygen, just assume you never have enough. Strong powerheads and air pumps are always appreciated by the fish in your tank, regardless of species.
