i have decided to move my arapaima to my pond because he keeps messing up my tank so what is the best way to move him

Depends on the size but if he is in a tank I imagine he's under 24" so a large Rubbermaid tub should work. Just be careful trying to remove him from the tank because as you probably know they are like torpedoes.
For one the size you have, your best bet net him out and put him in a plastic container of some type (Like a Sterilite or Rubbermaid bin).
If it's not a long distance, just net him out and run him to the pond.
For bigger Arapaima, it becomes more involved. Then you're talking a team of people, stretcher and possibly an anesthetic to knock the fish out while you move it.
