help,
i had a fluval 403 with a fluidizer plumbed in for years with great results. however, my old 403 is loosing power and a new impeller/shaft did not fix it. so i bought a new 405 but the hoses are different. how to plumb inline accessories with the fluval 405 hosing?
how do you plumb accessories into the ribbed hosing of the new fluval series???
PS; a new fx5 is also on the way to replace a perfectly working 303.
i don't like the new hoses, and the ribbing only increases resistance and lowers gph flow. any ideas or experience??
thanks for any help you can come up with.

Change the output from the 405 to something that is not ribbed and run that directly into the fluidized filter. The output and input on the cannister is a hose compression connector so you just need to match inside and outside diameter. You can use the old output for the fluidize filter and the hose that came with the 405 for the input.

thanks for the reply, thats what i thought. despite having bags of tubing and misc. supplies, seems i'll still need to make a trip(s) to the store for supplies before all is said and done. i was hoping to just unplug the old and plug in the new but life is never that easy. planned obsolescences.....
