Hey guys. i recently got a 13 inch Fire Eel and was feeding it bloodworms that the previous owner gave me. I went to the store today and bought some uncooked shrimp. i was wondering how to prepare it for the eel.
Thanks in advance!

Not all fire eels will eat shrimp. Some will eat the shrimp but very few will eat the tilapia. I got rid of my huge fire eel because it only ate worms and crayfish. I got a little too expensive to feed it. Good Luck.

It's really just a matter of having the patience to wean them onto new foods. I've gotten my tire track to accept pellets simply by making it fast for a while, and now it will eat both pellets and market shrimp, and I know there are a few people on MFK who have done the same with their fire eels, too. They might be stubborn, but you can get them to eat pretty much anything as long as it's actually edible.

^^agreed. I've done it. My tire tracks eat tilapia, freeze-dried krill, silversides, earthworms, pellets. They are pigs. My new fire eel is now eating tilapia, krill and pellets. It takes some time.
