How to quiet a filter

My Aqueon 30-45 gallon rated filter is extremely loud trickling the water into the tank. I have the water level up above the black trim on the tank as high as it should go but still the water filtered trhough and hitting the surface is very loud.... What should i do???

turn it off !!! then you won't even notice it

Switching to a canister filter is about all you can do if the sound of moving water bothers you.
Or you can drain the tank and get a pet lizard.

Put a sheet of filter floss over the waterfall part...problem solved.
