I made an overflow like this, where the pipe skims water from the surface. But it's noisy.

Any tips to quiet it down?

Cap pipe C and drill a small hole in the cap. Every now and then it will still make a gurgle but when I did it to mine it dramatically cut down the noise.

I did when I built it, the noise is where the water goes into the mouth of the skimmer.

If I put a drinking straw down the pipe the noise stops, but flow is reduced. If I put a blade from a pair of scissors on the edge of the pipe it will stop and the flow isn't compromised.

I'm going to try to drill some anodized screws into the end of the pipe tomorrow.

Btw, I'm talking about the thing in the 2nd and 3rd pictures. I used the "scrap" portion from a hole saw. It made the center hole perfect for the air line. I then glued on the feet using pvc glue, and then glued it to the end of the pipe.

I like that overflow box, I might have to try that. Right now I need to screen off that intake, I woke up and had a damsel swimming around in my sump.
