Good day guys!,im just asking about bichir fry,how to effectively raise them and prevent the mortality rates to ensure the success of the breeding project?,what gallons of tank to be used in raising the fry and the suggested water level and filtration..hope you guys can help me...

As with anything, good filtration / for fry you'll want to use a sponge filter and your as far as the size of tank...Depends on the amount of fry really? But without knowing I'd say a good grow out tank I use for fry is a 60gallon. Feed them good and at minimum three time a day and net or suck out any un-eaten food. Good luck ;)

how many fry are you raising in your 60 gal?,and after how many days before i feed them brine shrimps?,they just hatch away of their sac last two days (tuesday)..btw thanks a lot john for answering my queries, guide me throughout my bichir breeding project, thanks again:)

Depending on how many fry you have, I wouldn't start with something larger than a 20 gallon. Even in ten gallon tanks, I've found it hard to ensure all fry find their food. Microworms would be a great first food for bichirs provided they are large enough since they are live and stay on the bottom. If you feed them BBS just make sure you look at their bellys after a couple of hours to make sure they could catch them. If the fry are too small for these foods, they will need to be started on infusoria.

I absolutely agree with starting with small tank first, Ive actually split mine up into 5 gallon tanks before,
and move them up over time, Ive done baby brine shrimp to start, as already stated make sure you check
them to ensure everyone is eating enough, we move up to small chunked blood worms, and slowly move up
from their, and i always keep them on a little warmer water, around 82 to start with, and no filters just
air bubblers a current in their tank will over power them completely, so be careful and a 5 gallon with a large bubbler
worked well for me
