Hello someone that bought some Lava Rock from me asked me if I knew how to help her with her freshwater fancy gold fish 72 gallon bow tank. Her water is green and she cant remove it. She has shut off her lights for two weeks and basically tried everything. So how does she go about getting her water back to crystal clear water? She is useing a canister filter. Dont remember what kind. Any help would be great.

Tell her to leave the lights on for 8hrs a day. Keep up with water changes and try to cut back on the feeding if she's over doing it.

The Goldfish may also be breeding. I know my Dad's Goldfish tank gets a green-yellowish tint and then he usually finds eggs in the filter.
use a diatom filter and while its running clean the sides of the tank and stirup the substrate it will always do the trick
I've heard that bulbs can change spectrums over time to a spectrum that encourages algae. What are her nitrate levels because with goldfish her water change schedule may just not be enough.
