i bought a used tank and the sides are painted is there a safe way to remove the paint anyone know:nilly:

paint remover/thinner maybe if you can wash it out well enough

but IDK if thats safe seeing as how Im 18 and have pretty much no experience with paint outside of krylon

The real question is was it scuffed before it was painted? if it was you won't be able to polish it out even after the paint is off.

will it peel with your finger nail scratching at it a bit? what what do the sides look like from the inside with a light on it?

do not use any type of stripper i learned the hard way. will eat into the acrylic. i think u should use 1000 girt wet sand paper to remove it then use 2000grit. after the 2000 polish it with novus product and it will look like new.

use a new stanley knife blade on its edge at 30degrees from the surface you want to clean and just push it like a snow plogh and that will remove it just go careful around any scratches, i use a stanley blade to clean glass at work and it should be the same for acrylic

that sounds alot easier than sanding it i will try it on a edge and see what happens

you're gonna ruin it... i am going to pay attention to this thread. i need a laugh:ROFL:
one wrong slip with that razor and there goes another big problem.

if done correctly it will be ok, if it doesnt work try wetting the surface to give it a little lubrication, a stanley blade is a flat edge so it shouldnt ruin it guys!!! have any of you actually tried it before? didint think so!
goodluck
