How to run drip filtration without a drain

I am thinking about creating a small hole in the side of my house where the water can drain out my only fear is that small rodents may use that as an entrance. I am also trying to think of a practical contain or really dispose of the water. Has anyone had success with running run off tank water into sprinkler system reservoir.
 
Interesting. Yes, you'd want to consider that as a problem (rodents) as they are attracted to water and warm homes. Adding a hole would be the last resort imo.

One thought is that you could run a line from the tank to a floor drain (one that goes to the public sewer or to a household sump) or directly to a toilet.

How much are you planning on draining a day?
 
It'll also likely ice up in harsh winters in LI, even though you'd be releasing relatively warm water constantly.
 
I ran my drain out the side of the house. It runs down a slope into a very large back yard. We had a very mild winter so freezing wasn't a problem this year. My outlet is about 12" off the ground so no problems with critters. I have screens that would prevent anything from getting out of the drains. If it is cold next winter I may use some pipe tape.
 
why can't you drill a hole into your ground and just drain that into your lowest level foundation ground?? other option is from Home depot you can buy a condensation pump and when that reservoir fills it pumps to the end of the water line is left...

Drill a hole in the ground? Where do you live that that might work?
 
Run it into barrels and get a pump to pump out a window everyday to your garden or just outside. Depends how much you drip.
 
I will be dripping 150 gallons a day... I created a drain on the side of the house. Hopefully the run off won't flood a near by ditch.

Make sure it's away from the house too much water can cause structural damage if it's not properly drained out. There was a YouTube video of a koi pond that caused his driveway to shift and all sorts of issues due to a leak in his pond
 
That's a lot of water to put straight in to the yard. I do 100 gallons of water changes twice a week and it gets my yard pretty damp in the area that I'm siphoning to. 150 a day would keep my yard saturated I think.

I am thinking about it with my tank, but I'll be draining through a wall and in to the gutter that runs under the yard and out to the golf course :)
