how to set up a C02 tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
1st thing is your going to lose alot of C02 with a wet/dry

by wet/dry i assume you mean a trickle tray which is where you will lose most of your C02

a standard sump is ok just minimize the splash

and as far as how to setup C02
you inject bubbles before return pump
or use a inline diffuser after return pump or a in-tank setup with a small powerhead and a gravelvac
all will work well

just remember C02 is not cheap $1 per Lb you will get tired of refilling your tank every month
so check for leaks and minimize water aeration

I have a trickly down filter, with a bio-wheel under my aquarium and I use pressurized CO2 without too much of a loss of CO2. You do not lose as much as most ppl think, but it is not as efficient as a canister filter. Mine is a 55 gallon aquarium, so I do not know what the loss on a bigger tank would be. From the filter sump, I have a underwater pump that goes to my CO2 reactor(DIY) and then back to my tank.

is it worth the money tho

well i mean if u dont have live plants is it still worth it

Plants are the only reason I can think of for having a CO2 system, unless you are interested in using it for lowering PH.
ok cool. i was ust woundering. when i get my planted tank going ill do it for sure
