How to Sex a Midas/RD

How can u sex a MD/RD cause I heard both maemnal have a lump on there heads?

Males have it more I think but its really about the tube that hangs out.

The male midas grows larger and will most likely have a larger hump. But, the positive way is to tell by their spawning tube. The male's will be more pointed as the female's will be rounded. Good Luck.

thanks! i had the same problem. a midas that i thought was male, turned out to be female. breeding tube is really thick and not pointy.

Turn them upsidedown and take a closeup shot of the vent.

I caught them at Kaneohe at a reseivor Ho'omaluhia its loaded with RD's, Smallmouth Bass, Channale Catfish,Tilapia,5 start generals, assorted cichlids, carp, etc, Ill try get some pics of the vent but unfortenatly the White one died from getting beat up by the red on eand mozambique tilapia. But I will try to get pics
