I currently have a 125 and will be getting a 75 to move some fish over to the 75.
I also plan on moving 1 of my 3 emperor 400 over to the 75. I got new pea gravel from Lowes and will probably siphon 20-30 gallons of the current water from the 125 to the 75.

Now do I still need a bacteria starter or will I be safe with the test levels?

:(

If you move one of the filters from the 125, you should have no problem.

exactly i have cycled one tank only and that was over 5 years ago everyone since has had a filter from a previous tank with the stocking levels built up slowly.

Exchanging some water from the 1st to the 2nd along with squeezing out a sponge from the 1st tank into the water wouldn't hurt. That's what I always do.

That will work... but i would wait 2 days untill introducing fish so that beneficial bacteria can multiply. But don't leave an aquarium alone with out fish too long. Water can turn wrong.

I have never used bacterial starter, your filter is already set, just don't wait to long beforeadding fish or the culture will start to starve.

As long as you can run both filters on the same tank or divide the media somehow it will work bacteria breed like, well bacteria.

I have never regreted mine. It saves on work and reduces spillage.
