Every week i have to scrub off all of the brown algae that gets everywhere:irked:!! Ive been told that its from overfeeding but i feed them a few pellets at a time to ensure that it all gets eaten. Please help me i hate it sooo much!!

The leading causes of brown algae is low lighting and high nitrates. Try increasing your light a bit and whats you parameters look like? If nitrates are too high then do more water changes more often until you can get it under control.

Found this on net from a previous encounter I had with brown algae. "
One reason brown algae appears in new tanks is because the cycling process of a fresh tank ends with a spike in nitrate levels. Diatoms thrive on nitrate, and algae blooms are very common during this time period.
The more significant reason that brown algae rears its ugly head is that new tanks tend to have a high concentration of silica, which brown algae in particular need to . Silica in the water column can come from the tapwater, the aquarium glass, or the substrate (especially if it is sand). This silica supply will eventually be used up but the initial dispersion of it will give diatoms a chance to take hold all over the tank."

i don't have a test kit and on top of that im home sick so i cant even bring it in to the store. I have a very high amount of lighting too, i have an aqueon 48" strip with a pink bulb i think it is, its bright as hell lol

Bright don`t make it right.
Do a bit of reading on lighting and you will find the "K" value has a great impact on how and what will grow in your tank.
A simple bulb change could very well turn the brown gunk into green gunk.
