i was wondering whats the best way to go about in creating a set up like a lfs, where i can house my breeder males/females in there own tanks (1fish per storage tank) untill iam ready to put them in a breeding tank

the thing that has me all confused is the pluming. i want to filter multiple tanks at the same time(like in the lfs) with 1 filter. also i was thinking aBout using rubermaid containers insted of "tanks".

thank you

idk but dont think rubbermaids will work very easily get a big tank and use dividers

Unless you are using the rubbermaid containers for a wet dry system, I have no clue as of what other use the Target bins will bring to oneself, other than storing food and supplies....

How many tanks do you have planned?
How many fish?
What kind of fish?
DO you have a rough draft blueprint(layout idea) that the members can work off of?

I have not been online for awhile, so pleae excuse me if you have noted as to what type of fish you already have....If I knew what kind of fish was up for bids, I would then be able to translate what my impression of a store setup would be....

I use the rubbermaid roughneck containers to house fry and it works great. It you want to filter all of them I would go with sponge filters powered by a very powerful air pump. This will be more cost effective. Of you could set up a sump (hell, just use another rubbermaid) with the return pump splitting in to a line running to all the the totes being controlled by ball valves.
