Hey all
the last tanks of my fish room are coming tomorrow and sat, issue is my cousins are on holiday until sunday so I cant install them or anything, was wondering where is a good area to leave the fish tanks, they are drilled so I cant lay them flat on a foam base as the bulk heads are glued into place, I was thinking sleeping bags or lots of foam or something so I can lay them down on that for the time being?
also the system uses 2x 6ft sumps ( everyone recommended it so I went 50 canister/ 50 sump
) when the system was being built I did not take into the fact where to place the sumps so the stands dont support the sump under, my idea is to just lay them all on one side of the room out of harms way, wondering a few things.
- can the sumps be lifted a little higher I.E one on top of another? I have 2 tier stands so the lower one could be on the floor level( lower then the tanks) 2nd one a little bit higher using some cement blocks and polywood or so to build a cheap stand.?
- is it possible to have the sumps on the other side of the room too the tanks or would this reduce the flow to much? i.E could I place the sumps outside and build a little roof for them add a sheet of water proofing plastic the heavy duty one and then just run the PVC pipes outside and vice versa? this would mean, rack A being closet and rack D being the furthest, rack A would be 5-6FT from the sump rack B being 8ft or so. rack C could be 12FT rack D could be 16ish ft, Or I could make rack C and D, rack D - 4-5 FT away rack C 7-8 FT away.
^ the ground outside is not flat in a sense, its flat but sloped down point A is lower then point B. would this still work?
Idea B would work best for me as one sump would be next to garden A sump B next to veggie garden = saving water = family happy! just not sure how well the water will travel? I was thinking of running it threw a pump but not sure if this can be done? the only sump I have sits right under the tank.
Open to ideas also, happy to take pictures if that may help or any info I missed feel free to ask, I cant answer the Qs on the bulk head size, ID for PVC etc as its a second hand unit and someone else wanted it so I just went and said yes before checking everything out in great depth, looked fine uses seca pumps I believe also.
Also thanks to anyone who gives advice tips towards this I am sure you guys dont want to be busting your brains xD
