I have been running my 2217 on my 55 gallon for almost a year now. The tank is fairly heavily stocked with smaller African cichlids.
I received the 2217 with the 55 gallon and it has ceramic rings in it for bio filtration. I've just purchased some Eheim Substrat Pro to replace the ceramic rings as I would like to maximise my bio filtration.
What would be the best way to swap the media over? I was thinking of swapping a 1/4 of the ceramic rings out every 2 weeks until it's all gone.
Does that sound OK?
