How to take apart a glass tank?

I want to redo some of the baffles on my 4x2x2 sump because I want to change the configuration.
What is the best way to seperate the glass from the silicone?
Has anyone tried using a small gas blow torch to lossen the silicone?

I wouldn't suggest heating the glass too much. Try using piano wire attached at both ends to pieces of wood. This should let you cut out the seams fairly easily.

I donot think that the blow torch is such a good idea, i would try the piano wires or some thin fishing line, razor blades would help in scrapping the silicone off the glass.

I have done this a few times with just a razor blade, the glass was to close to get any wire down, it takes a bit of messing but did the trick.

Heat it and it will stink to high heaven, so dont if you do, do it in the house LOL
