just thought that I would share a rather hysterical story about one particularly nasty fish.
I worked at a fish store for a few months and one of the cichlids (it was a hybrid of some sort) was constantly picking on whatever we put in there regardless of what it was. Large parrot fish, peacock bass, plecos, anything.
One day we got a new shipment of fish in and by mistake, we were sent about 30 extra fish. All of the tanks were over stocked with the exception of the 80 gallon bowfront that the mean fish was in. Not having much of a choice, I put the biggest fish we got in with the cichlid hoping it would last long enough for one of the other tanks to get some room. It was an electric catfish and sure enough, the cichlid went straight for it but was stopped about 2 inches from the electric catfishafter recieving what seemed to be a rather large jolt. From that point on, the cichlid would not go near the catfish and had stopped bothering any other fish we had placed in the tank.
