I had recently purchased two EBJD's from a fellow MFKER(at around 3-4inches) and I've been growing them out together. I'm not quite sure on their family lining but I assumed that they were siblings. One is clearly a male with a larger body whereas the other was slightly smaller. I had also assumed at first that they were also both male (both had relatively sharp fins). I had planned to grow them both a bit bigger and then pairing them with some female BGJD's that come from a completely different line. However, as of lately they move together and are almost inseparable. This was not the case when I first got them, one chose the right-side and the other chose the left side of the tank. Now I suspect that the smaller EBJD might have been a female and my worst case scenario is that they've actually paired already. How can I tell for sure if they're paired or just schooling together?

Well, if you're able to accurately sex them and they are indeed male and female, them being around each other all the time is a good sign a pair bond is forming.

they may be a pair but you never get viable off spring..You need to cross with a blue gene from different line altogether

good call eventually you will need females....fyi and they dont always bond with just any female... ive been breeding for a little while now..so that how i know
