I was recently at a LFS, and the had two Aros in two different tanks. One was labeled Black Aro and the other a Sliver Aro. They both looked almost the smae in color and pattern. They were both blackish in color with blueness towards the fins and orangeish color by the tip. My first though was that someone made a mistake. But it being a very established LFS I doubt that was the case. I didn't have a camara with me. I was told the Sliver may kept its color and not turn all sliver. I love t he color and I don't want to take a chance that it will lose its appearance.

silvers are almost all silver and blacks are like black and blue on the tail

Update, I went back to the LFS at lunch and I got a better look at them. The one that says Black, is all black and fins are blue and orange tips.
The on that says Sliver is blackish and more orange on the body.

The black is about 5-6 inches
The sliver is 9-10 inches

the silvers a silver and the black, is indeed(from your description) a black aro;)

Blacks have a much more slender body than a silver. Sometimes the colors can be deceiving, so it's best to study the head/body shape and make the determination from there.

If bot had identical body structure, I'd say they were both blacks.

so what do they want for the black?

just trying to guage current market

Umm your gonna be sick, but they want $350 for the baby black.
I will see if I can talk them down, if not I guess its a sliver for me.
