ok so with my Cichla i dropped 1 feeder in the tank at a time until they tarted hitting them practically the second it hit the water then i would just substitute a rosy red with shrimp or pellets and then gradually kept doing it until it was just pellets and shrimp. BUUT my dats arent that aggressive when eating. anything and everything i drop in the tank goes unnoticed. even feeders they swim around for 5-10 minutes pretty much until the DATS even take notice... they dont seem the mind being starved either.

Tigers are a tough fish to convert to pellets. A healthy tiger can go 4-8 weeks with no food.
Cichla will eat anything in comparison.
You can either starve them
More many weeks , if you have the will power.
Or marinate the pellets on prawnjuices or bloodworm juices.

You need to be patience when come to converting DAT to pallets or Shrimp. All my small size DATs have converted to take Shrimp with pallets. I have try several times to feed them with shrimp and pallets but they tend to be ignore them. However when I add some small fishes like tiger bards they tend to follow them to eat what the tiger bards eat. Also you need to starve them a few days before start new food like shrimp or pallets. However if your fish is too young, you just feed what they want until sometime when they grown a bit older like maybe around 3" inch.
Hope you get them on shrimp or pallets soon.
Thanks.

Patience, when I got my small NTT's they were on feeders. Then I got tired of going out and buying them so I started feeding mysis shrimp. They didn't eat initially but caught on as they were housed in a tank with other fish. Once they were on frozen is when I started feeding pellets. All of my dats are not on pellets which makes feeding really easy.
