I suspect that my armatus has some parasites in his intestines so I bought a bag of 2 pound epsome salts to try to get rid of it.
I just don't know how to use it in proper doses and such.

A few simple questions:

How do I use it? (external or internal)? I heard that you can either put in in water or put the salt on the fish's food. WHAT WAY?

What's the proper dose?

What does epsom salt even do?

How often do I use it?

Any special requirements for dose for armatus (they are sensitive fish)

Any additional meds?

Anything else I need to know?

The magnesium in epsom salts kills the parasites but passes right through the fish. If the fish is eating them soaking the food in a solution of epsom and water is best but just dosing the tank will help. Trying searcjing epsom salts and heximita, there's a good thread that spells everything out including dosage.

The intructions in the link is quite confusing. It says put 1 table spoon of epsom salt in 500 millilitres of DISTILLED WATER. I thought epsom salt was supposed to be used externally?

Any answer like "how many teaspoons per 10 gallons" per say? or is epsom salt just supposed to be eaten internally?

I'm a cichlid keeper so I soak pellets with the mixture then feed, I'm not sue how that would work with your armatus snce m assuming it eats some type of fish. I had one incident where a fish wasn't eating but it may have been stress, when I isolated the fish I added epsom likt it was aquarium fish and it came around. I haven't read the thread in over a year and thought it gave both internal and external, my bad.

I feed my armatus frozen salmon so would be the right idea to put a load of epsom salt on the thawed fillet before feeding? how much salt and what are the steps?

Are you confirming that i can also put epsom salt into the TANK WATER like regular aquarium salt? What are the doses?

Raise the temp to about 82 and add epsom salt- 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons. This help cure my NTT when it was losing balance and appetite. From what I read online its like a laxative and help fish pass gas or food, probably more benefits I dont know of

Take a teaspoon of ES and dilute it in a cup of water, let the felet soak in it for about 15 mins and feed it to the fish.
