I wanted to use Prazipro on piranha and know it is safe but wanted some clarification on how to use. I have a 75gallon tank so I will use the right dosage. It looks like you do a large water change and then introduce the meds. The questions I have are:
1) do you only dose on the first day?
2) do you need to use carbon after the 7 days are up or does the meds go away?

Do a 50% water change then dose 1 teaspoon per 20 gallons (I use one of those tops from cough medacine I saved to measure dosage). After 5 days do a 50% water change and done. Depending on what you are trying to treat a singel treatment is usually enough. It's not necessary to use carbon after treatment is complete. If you think a retreatment is necessary wate 3 days and do it again.

As a side note, I overdosed the hell out of it one time. While I was draining the water I did some research regarding my stupidity. According to a vet that responded in a pond forum, you can't afford to cause an overdose. Meaning it would take more than you can afford to buy to cause harm. Increasing the dose won't help anything, though. Good luck. This stuff works miracles IME.

I was forced into feeding him live so this is more precautionary. Had him for 15 years so just trying be careful. Looks like its common practice to treat piranhas once a year with this stuff.
