When I got a set up 55gal a long time ago, it came with a python gravel cleaner/water exchanger, but I never used it and didn't really know what it was until very recently. There were no instructions with the kit, so I have to idea how to use it and I can't really find any guides on here or anywhere else on how to use it. There is a really crappy article on DrsFosterandSmith that shows some, but it doesn't tell you specifically how to use it. Please point me to a thread I have missed or let me know exactly how you set one up. Thanks.

come on, just about everyone on here has one and no one can tell me how to use it?

I thought it was self explanitory. You stick the siphon end in the tank, then you take the attachment end and screw it onto a faucet or hose outside. Pretty obvious which one you screw on. Then you either push the out flow IN to push water into your tank, or pull it out/stick out to suck water FROM your tank. There should be instructions in the bag once you get it though.

Dont be so hard on yourself. We are all n00bs to a point, thats why we are all here, to learn....

:)

okay, go to this picture. Shows you all the parts you should have on the Python. If you don't have all these parts, you will need to get them.

The green thingy that is in the middle of the coil, that is sticking up, is the part you hook onto the faucet and control the suck/push of the python. The TOP part of that green thing is the outflow/inflow. You can push it down and twist it to lock it in place. When it is in the out position, water should flow out of it. This is the drain/outflow position. Push it in and twist it, no water should come out. This is the fill/inflow position. The other end is the end you screw onto the faucet or hose. Its the only threaded part of the python unless you took it apart.

okay, it has all those parts. i figured the green thing screwed onto the faucet, i just didnt know how to use it, lol. i get it now. it just occurred to me that if i wouldve actually hooked it up i probably wouldve been able to figure it out haha. i have a faucet in the basement pretty close to the tank that i've hooked up the white adapter to before to use a regular hose, i just never tried to use the python. i'm pretty sure i have enough hose on the python to reach the sink, so i won't have to use and outside faucet. there were a couple other parts with it that confused me, but i think theyre probably just for adding on hose or something. I cant believe i never tried to use it before, lol.

THANKS!
