About to make a 400gal (approx) plywood tank. people with experience, what should i use to waterproof my tank. I want to go with a black 2 part epoxy paint like pond shield but I cant get that shipped to Australia so im wondering if someone knows another Australian brand that is effective and fish safe. Ive found this brand but i cant find anything on it so i dont know how reccomended it is. http://pentairaes.com/epoxy-paint.html PLEASE ANSWER AND HELP :)

Also, ive tried the liquid rubber once before and im NEVER doing that again because i dont want to wake up to a gushing tank.

Can you explain?
I used it and it was fine for about a week then there was a very slow leak, maybe a few little drips a day then it got worse and worse and just started to have a bigger and bigger leak which was not that bad but then one morning I woke up to a half empty tank and wet floor... I would just rather a solid waterproofed than a rubber that can be easily punctured. I'm going to use a epoxy resin with fibreglass cloth in it I think.

Interesting, did you put the recommended film thickness? I do know you need alot of it to waterproof something like 1 gallon for 12 to 15 sq ft. I used this stuff and it was exactly like a sheet of rubber and flex 200 to 300 percent before it ripped

I like the stuff, I know epoxy works very well and its been used over and over and is tried and true but there is also alot of failure because of structure with it and becauseif done corr you should fiberglass whole tank not just corners as many do on here

Yea I'm planning on fiber glassinf the whole thing but I shouldn't have a problem with structural strength in using 19mm ply and then re inforcing it with more ply on the edges and beams across the Middle. Plus the fibreglass should give it a lot more strength :)
