In a bare tank simply upping turnover may work as you have little drag or anything to snag the fish poo. A vacuum works well after feeding. In the bare bottom I use to have I just siphoned it off every day or 2. Just takes a gallon or 2 by that method even in large tanks as you can see it easily.
Siphon more often since its so easy on a bare bottom. Or get a power head, a koralia 750 should do, and put it near the bottom blowing into a filter intake.
Pushing it into the filter takes it out of sight, but its still in the water until until the filter is cleaned out. And its what you can't see that is degrading to water quality.
Vacuuming is the best practice, whether you have bare bottom, or not.
Vacuuming, pure and simple. But, it's a constant battle. That's why I never do a barebottom tank. (Not only that, a substrate is beneficial in many ways.)
