All three of my marm (5" SL) came in with muscle striations but two of them had faint white dorsal stipes showing. So considering the things I have read that muscle striations were an indicator of males and fearing I had three males I emailed Vin Kutty. His response was that the white dorsal stripe was the best indicator with the striations being a strong indicator also, but females also have them especially when young. As they mature the striations on the females will fade becoming very faint to invisible.
Wait till they mature to determine sex.
At the sizes that you have it is still much to young to accurately determine sex.
