I have a longfin and a regular senegal. I'm waiting for the regular senegal to pack some size before I throw him into the 75g with my longfin. Is there any aggression issues between senegals?

Usualy they should get along just fine,There might be some slight agression at first but it shouldn't last long this is normal as they setup their lil territories-Anne

many websites say bichirs wont get along.
dont take their word for it.
ive never seen any aggression between bichirs ever.

''ive never seen any aggression between bichirs ever"
I have its not pleasant always watch for signs of agression and be ready to seperate the combatats

hmm.
yea.
never for me anyway.
the funniest thing happened.
my endli was tryign to suck in a pellet and ended up biting onto the plecos tail.
the pleco was swmming around the tank with and endli hanging on.
sounds cruel.
but it was actually kinda funny.
i had to use my hand and grab the endli.
and even then he wouldnt let go.
so i pinched him a little on his head.
then he just went back to eating pellets like nothing happened. :D

Hello,

in one of my tanks the one and only species that is a bit aggressive is Polypterus delhezi - the two males are biting each other without hurting ... i think there is no problem.
When my P.senegalus are doing courtship the male chases the other male away - they do this in change ...
I've read in many aquaristic-orientated books about aggressions between bichirs - in majority of cases the same words were used. It seems to me that the autors transcribed this of each other. This is usual in many other facts belonging to bichirs ...

Greetings

Uwe

Senegals are usually kind of whacky. Some are aggressive while others are passive. What you want to do is pick out the one from the bunch that does not display any aggressive behavior. Generally, if you keep your senegals well fed then they will not be hunting in your tank at your expense.:D
