I have a 3 acre pond in florida that was stocked a few years ago with about 500 channel catfish. There is also bream and a bunch of big bass. We were planning on getting rid of the larger catfish and restocking them. My grandma lives there. How would I go about transporting a 5+ pound channel catfish to me in new york state? Without driving is there even a way?

The big problem is that you got a catfish that is used to living in warmer temperatures all year-round and that it is already old fish that might not able to adapt to NJ winters. There are reason why the largemouth bass/bluegill from Florida were unable to adapt to the northern region climates.
Also the channel catfish MUST be tested for any diseases before crossing the state lines as the laws required.
