Posting my first message as the newest member of MFK. I'm the proud mommy of a 15" long red belly pacu by the name of Otis.
He currently resides in my 125 gal freshwater tank.
Anyone with tips or advice on keeping a pacu of this size happy, please let me know. I'm debating on giving him away to a good home if someone out there has a tank to accomodate him. He's approx 7 years old. I've had him since he was the size of a half-dollar.

View attachment 600797welcome to mfk.. the sad part is that most pacu end up looking for another home.. and most often there is no other place for him to go..i hope yours gets lucky.. i feel for you and all the other people who grow to love their fish and have no idea at the time of purchase that they will outgrow everything but a huge tank.. pacu in my opinion are one of the most personable fish there are.. full of fun and happiness.. always smiling.. i hope you are feeding him/her alot of veggies. that is their natural diet.. nice to meet you..
