I stumbled onto this forum while planning a large aquarium build.

I've had various aquariums throughout the last 20 years or so. Currently I am planning on building an aquarium in the 1000 gal range.

I'm an electrician by trade and father of five.

Thanks! I've learned a ton on this forum just lurking for the past few weeks.

As far as what to put into a 1000 gal aquarium; not decided yet. Most of my experience is with the tropical community type setups. I originally was leaning toward discus, but not so much anymore. I really want to see activity so my kids will enjoy watching more. So currently I am thinking some sort of African cichlids, or possibly local native fish. (I think that's legal here. I haven't checked yet.)
Suggestions would be welcome. Tank dimensions will be 10' x 5' x 3' depth. I could also go 4' deep if it would be beneficial.
