Hi all --
I'm Chrissy from Western MA. I've had fish all my life. I even remember my very first fish.. I think I was in the 3rd or 4th grade and we were doing some science project where you have to put these poor goldfish in bowls filled with freezing ice water, then into very warm water and watch them try to cope with the temperature change. Thinking this was all very cruel, I asked my teacher after class if I could take some of the fish home (Lord only knows what she was going to do with them!
) Long story short - 2 scraggly feeder fish wound up living out 3 years in a loving home - and from there a passion for the hobby was born.
I currently live with my boyfriend (who is supportive of my love for all creatures - thank God!). Unfortunately for me though, we rent the 2nd floor of a two-family house and there isn't enough room for more than my 55G tank - not to mention there isn't enough support to even hold more than that. So right now I can't have any Monsters, but I certainly plan to in the future! Pacus here I come!!
My current setup is a 55G with 4 silver dollars, 1 gold severum, 1 bala shark, and 1 albino bala shark. Yep.. plastic all the way as you can see below. As cool as real plants are, my silver dollars just won't allow it..
And here's a shot of my severum who just -loves- having his picture taken.. he's strange. I must have tried 8 times to get a close-up of the silver dollars, but he gets in front of the camera every time!
Anyway, I'm sure I'll be seeing a lot more of you because this site is so addicting! Later!
