I'm new to this monster fish thing. I've been keeping reptiles for 24 years and cichlids on and off for about 12 years. I'm thinking of moving my Mississippi map turtle to my now vacant 70 gal. Any large fish I might be able to keep with a 6" and still growing female.

Hmmm, I keep goldfish with my 2 red ear sliders. I originally put 2 dozen in with them and there are still about 18 left in there. They don't bother the gold fish anymore.

Hmmm.....good question. So you are sure that it is a female? Because they have a more carnivorous diet then the males. They also tend to be more carnivorous when compared to RES. Well you could give it a shot. It really depends on the attitude of the turtle in a lot of cases. But don't be surprised if you get a fish and one day you come home and it has a big chunk missing out of it. I've had pretty good luck with keeping members of the sunfish family with turtles in outdoor setups. At the moment I keep a female convict cichlid with my musk turtles and they don't bother her one bit. Has the turtle ever had contact with live fish in an aquarium before?

Gambusia mosquito fish are also very good :D Make shure any fish you put in there is completley healty

Not saying that they will never eat a fish, I'm just saying that's not really their cup of tea. They prefer snails and clams, the females (which get about twice as big as the males) will eat crayfish too.
