Just got my new lights in today and finished my co2 complete system!!! Here are some pics if you have suggestion splease just post em :] I will be adding 2-4 inches of substrate once I get some money for christmas...ill also put tabs in and I dose micros and macros twice a week Tuesday and Saturday. have dwarf hairgrass, amazon swords, and 2 random plants from seeds I got at walmart.....dwarf hairgrass doesn't look so good but with new lights and co2 hopefully itll be fine :]

Nice DIY drop checker! I've seen a lot of these made in interesting ways but i haven't seen one made from a jar yet. Good idea. Beautiful koi angel, by the way. :)

The hairgrass looks pretty burnt out; i'd be surprised if it recovered. Usually when it's completely brown like that it's pretty much done for.

If you want to try some more plants, i'd recommend Rotala rotundifolia, Hygrophila difformis, Ludwigia repens, Ludwigia palustris, or Ludwigia repens x arcuata. All of these are generally pretty easy plants to grow and should do fine in your setup, especially if you decide to add some nutrient-rich substrate and/or root tablets down the road. Most of these plants can easily be found at a local plant club auction. Not sure if there's one in North Carolina but it might be worth looking into. You might even be able to collect some Ludwigia in ponds when it warms up a little (there's nothing like free plants!).
