How's the fishing in Prospect Park?

most fish will be sluggish due to the low temp, but you MIGHT have a shot at Bullheads, Carp, and Bowfin.

Someone correct me if i am wrong but i think it is illegal to use herring as bait fishing for freshwater in NY state drag a plastic worm across the bottom fish very slowly
I ended up trying to fish for herring that day but no bites

Are you referring to the Prospect Park in Pennsylvania?If so there is a pretty good aquarium store you can check out also.
Prospect Park in Brooklyn, NY. Gene- where were you trying herring? I know people do it on the bay, but I've never caught any there. The best place seems to be a pier around 86th Street.
