Hows this for a "monster" sized goldie?.

This has been widely debated. Posted in Aquariacentral and it has been agreed that it is a hybrid. Consider the size, tail and head appearance. None of this seems to be the usual features of a goldfish. Check this thread out for more information about distinguishing hybrids.

This was also posted in Koko's Goldfish Forum and at the moment, some suspected it is a hybrid as well.

Edit: It has been concluded by several it is a hybrid.

I don´t think that´s a hybrid. It looks like a butterfly koi. Butterfly koi are just selectively bred koi carp. I´ve been buying these in Japan for years. And yes they do get a lot bigger than the one in the photo.

Both koi and goldfish are under the family, carp therefore calling it koi x carp hybrid is invalid. Koi x goldfish is more valid as any manner of calling the fish is in question still makes it a carp.
