Hello all,
I have a 180gal tank up and running for two months now. It is fully cycled and I have been playing with the stock list a bit. Until I stumbled upon discus. These fish are amazing. They are beautiful and have such character! My plan was to keep something with my arowana.
All my fish are still small so I can remove some that do not fit in so well.
I have
1 7" silver arowana
3 1" clown loach
2 angel fish
2 geo surinamensis
1 3" cuckoo syno
1 6" tiger shovelnose
3 3" discuss
I know this may be over doing it but I thought I could still remove some while they are still young to accommodate growth.
The thing is I am now so enthralled with discuss that I want to do whatever it takes to keep them. Temperament wise all these fish seem to get along great. They tend to be very messy and active, stealing all the food before other fish get to it.
I guess what I am asking here is should I take out any other fish to allow the discus to feed more easily? Or am I going down a road of destruction?
Keep in mind this tank is mainly a show tank and I do not wish to breed discus. If overstock is an issue I can remove the the syno, the clown loaches, or angels to allow them to be healthy. Is the TSN a huge problem? Because I have come to like him too.
Thanks for you advice
Larry
