I'm guessing you're refering to Xenomystus nigri...if so, I agree...they stay relatively small (12" MAX).
Keep in mind, these are predatory animals so those congo tetras could be lunch...especially when the knife is out hunting at night. If you want to mix this list together, your best be would be to get the ctenopomas, senegals, or any other polys first because these take a while to grow, where the knife will put on some size pretty quickly. Once the tankmates are beefed up, then add a small knife...but I would still keep an eye on him.![]()
