The bill is not up for a vote. It has been referred to the subcommittee on Insular Affairs, Oceans, and Wildlife. There is a subcommittee hearing on April 23. A member has graciously volunteered to deliver our petition and position letter to the subcommittee. The bill would need to make it out of the committee and be placed on the schedule for a vote by the house if the majority finds it worthwhile. Even if it were to make it to a vote, it still must pass the house and then go through the senate. It's important for us to voice our opinion now before it ever gets to that point. I doubt the subcommittee hearing will be on CSPAN, but you never know.
