So I was doing a water change today on my 20 long (HRP Male, pristellas) and found about 30 wrigglers in the cichlid stone that my male has been hiding in much more often than normal. I was baffled because 4 days ago I removed the female "baby" 1" convict from the tank [into a 10gallon QT] because one morning I woke up to the HRP with tattered pectoral fins. Turns out they were a pair and bred!

I know they'll be hybrids, but the question becomes, should I reunite the pair? or no?

That is up to you at this point. If you decide to sell the fry be sure to tell them that they are not pure HRP or Cons. Personally I don't see anyting wrong with the pare. You could always use the fry as feeders for your texas.

Okay - I have no intension of ever selling them, especially because my HRP is a pure F2 Rio Danli, so I'd like to keep the bloodline pure :) I'm going to wait on re-introducing the female, because she is in my 10QT tank where I recently had 4 tiger barbs who had ick (bought them and they contracted it in QT)... So I'm going to wait a solid 2 weeks before bringing her back

Well I got fry from my friend who did this. The cross I recieved were marble cons x LHRP. basically the same thing you have just matcled. The fry were raised and crossed back to Lhrp again and the result was more intensified blue on the fins the yellow on the females was more pronounced.

I must say there must have been some hybrd vigure as one of my females devolped orange on her check the same as orange found on her side! The results make for a more interesting hybrid. Im into small stuff. Im currently looking to play with the strip cons as i have put about 6 yrs into playing with abino/ jelly bean cons and carring the shourt bodied recessive gene...

Go Cons !

If you want more fry for feeders then go for it. If it would bother you to cull the fry then I'd leave them apart and get the HRP a HRP female.
