thanks. good luck to you on the eggs. i wish i could get a good pic of the beast of the HRPs but he has his own spot in a rock cave and only comes out to eat and scare fish away. He is a great looking HRP.
Growing out the fry from my pair right now. I've heard they have small broods and i've learnt that to be true, so don't be dissapointed if you get like 30 fry at their size Goicondorus.
Sal123 they are beautiful how many do you have in the tank, is it like a HRP species tank?
heres a pic of my two first is female, second male.
i have four in my tank along with a rainbow cichlid and a port cichlid pair. a get along well other than my ports having fry but i took the fry out and put them in a separate tank.
ya they have no problems with each other. the only problem was when my ports had fry. i took a lot of the fry out and everything seems to have calmed down now
yeah, i already peeked inside their log cave thing and there are probablly only 50 eggs at most, and who knows how many will actually hatch, it is their first time and all lol.
that really is a nice stocking, how big of a tank is it? i have mine in a 40 breeder. i just have two juvies and a school of tetras as tankmates at the moment
they are in a 55 for now until they get bigger or i notice aggression which they have all been in there for 6 months now and no problems. i think its because i have multiple pots and caves for all my fish to hang out in which has helped since the ports were breeding. eventually i am going to have an all HRP tank and see how that goes, but for now im happy with the fish i have
