Hubby buys me a fish

Oh my I went to the BALs sale and got my wolf fish I bought my hubby a gar which I wanted anyway lol Its his birthday he loved it. He says he also bought me one ,I never seen him in there , I have no idea what this fish is I put it in the feeder tank any help please.

Violet goby. Should be in a brackish set up but will live in fresh water just fine.

Nice Violet (dragon) goby (Gobioides broussonnetii) you got there. Remember even though it has a big mouth it prefers smaller food.

Yes fosho brackish ... When I knew nothing about this hobby I bought one....Thinking I was doing a great job.. with water changes and such... and then he died anyway..... So yes do brac water..!

They are one of few fish who can move from different levels of salinity without huge affects. Although brackish is best, they can still live in freshwater without huge impacts on their health.

I love dragon goby's. They love brine shrimp! Definitely brackish, I used to keep mine with brackish molly's.

deff brackish, walmart sells them here, told them that they have 2 diff specie of fish that need brackish, there puffer and goby, they just shrugged and walked away........ pointless that i wasted my breath trying to help the poor critters......

Violet goby's can live in fresh water without shortening their life. it makes them more susceptible to disease but unless they get sick they will not die from being in freshwater.
