This is NOT mines just thought it's pretty cool
.
This is a huge 5 inch Megalodon shark tooth which comes from a river in South Carolina. As you can see, this tooth is in excellent condition with an excellent enamel, gumline (bourlette), root, and serrations, everything a collector is looking for. Best of all, this tooth has had NO REPAIR OR RESTORATION AND IS 100% FOSSIL. So many of these teeth have been restored or filled in some way, this one has none of that which brings its value and appeal up considerably.
If you know nothing about Megalodon sharks, they were the largest shark in history living from 2-20 million years ago. To give you an idea of their size, they could reach lengths of 60 feet long and over 100 tons, dwarfing the largest white sharks of today. One rule of thumb is that for every inch of tooth there was 10 feet of shark. Therefore, this tooth would have come from about an approximately 50 foot shark which is pretty mind blowing. The largest white sharks of today only reach about 20 feet in length and weigh about 3 tons. Megalodon was truly a predator to end all predators.
I'm asking $225 for this excellent fossil which again, is 100% natural and in great condition. I will ship via Priority Mail after payment (via Paypal, money order, or check) is received or I can deliver it to you personally if you happen to live in my neck of the woods. Thank you.
