Well, this project won't be happening for quite some time, but within a year. I know it's very early but I'm def going to make this happen and want to know ABSOLOUTELY everything before I even start looking at buying. I'm thinking a 10x4x3 or 4 tank for 3-4 RTCs and a couple hybrids. I ABSOLOUTELY love them. I may bump it to 12 or 15 feet long by 6-8 feet front to back and 3 or 4 foot tall. Any suggestions? I know this will be a very expensive tank, I will have plans of having 2 viewing windows with a 1 foot boarder all the way around the window, possibly reduce it to 6". I've talked to local pond and LFSs. One highly reputable LFS said just silicone and make sure the corners are sealed and everything is braced then lay pond liner in it and I should be good to go.... That's ALOT OF WATER to be playing "should be" games. I've been thinking laying very thick fiberglass and double layering it, then double layering 145 mil rubber lining, and before all that putting a bunch of sealer on the bare plywood corners and maybe pure rubber, I used to work for a air conditioning company and to seal up units on roofs we would use tar and just paint it on, do you think with all this and an extreme amount of bracing with 1" ply that is double layered and 1-1/2" glass would be okay? Ideas and recommendations are needed and highly appreciated! If you think this tank is over sized, I agree but I don't like my animals (especially big cats) being cramped, also some friends have RTCs and they said if they had theirs when they were too big for what they have they'd either pay me to take the fish or pitch in on build costs to take their fish, as they don't want a true pet to be dumped in a lake or eaten. Thanks!
